COVID-19 Update 19

Lockdown Extended

With the Premier’s announcement that NSW will be in lockdown for another four weeks, School@Home will now continue until 28 August, with HSC students possibly returning to face-to-face lessons on 16 August.

Although this is not what we hoped for, it is necessary for the wellbeing of our community. Thank you for your partnership in managing School@Home during this time. I have heard some great stories of families using their time to do extraordinary things together. Good can sometimes come from difficult situations when we tackle them positively and with creativity.

Be assured that staff are working hard to make remote learning accessible and manageable for families. I encourage you to prioritise the class Google Meets at 9am each day. This is an important way for students and parents to stay connected. We are all in this together; staff are just a phone call or email away.

It is a bonus to have the Olympics telecast during lockdown. While our planned excursions for Term 3 are on hold, we can all be part of the virtual Tokyo audience at the games. Take some time to be inspired by world-class athletes and cheer Australia on.

Keep sharing your lockdown learning stories.
